Some members also hold additional Investment Shares (Class A) or Bonus Shares (Class B) beyond their membership.

For legal purposes in the merger documents, the term 'Shareholder' refers specifically to members who hold these additional shares.

Simply put: all shareholders are members, but not all members are shareholders.

Voting will start on November 10th at 10 am and will close on December 2nd at 6 pm.

Voting works differently.

You will receive notice by email, online banking or traditional mail with necessary details around our Special Meeting.

The proxy appointment period will open on November 10th at 10 am and will close on December 2nd at 6 pm. Live voting will take place at the Special Meeting of Shareholders.

As an Alterna shareholder, you have two options for your shareholder vote: 

  • You can appoint your proxy during the voting period (November 10th at 10 am – December 2nd at 6 pm) 

We strongly recommend that you appoint your proxy in advance to make sure your vote is cast even if you are unable to attend the meeting.

Toronto - Live Special Meeting of Shareholders: 

  • Date: Thursday, December 4th, 2025
  • Time: 6pm ET
  • Location: 1600 RBC Plaza North Tower, 200 Bay St. Suite 1600, Toronto, ON M5J 2T6
  • Advance registration is required and ends December 2nd at 6 pm: Register here

 

Ottawa - In-person watch party of the Live Special Meeting of Shareholders: 

  • Date: Thursday, December 4th, 2025 
  • Time: 6pm ET
  • Location: 319 McRae Ave Floor 4, Ottawa, ON K1Z 0B9
  • Advance registration is required and ends December 2nd at 6 pm: Register here

 

Virtual Attendance:

  • Date: Thursday, December 4th, 2025 
  • Time: 6pm ET

 

Space is limited for both in-person meetings, please register.

What you’ll need: 

  • Government issued photo identification (In-person in Toronto or watch party in Ottawa)
  • Username and password (Virtual)

 

Important: You are also entitled to vote as a member which is done during the voting period (November 10th at 10 am – December 2nd at 6 pm).

Record Date: November 7th, 2025
We have two voting categories, and your eligibility depends on your relationship with Alterna as of the record date:

Members
You're eligible to vote if you're 18 years or older as of November 7th, 2025.

Shareholders
You're encouraged to participate if you're 18 years or older as of November 7, 2025 and hold Class A Investment Shares and/or Class B Bonus Shares.

Member voting closes at 6 pm on December 2nd. 
Shareholders may appoint a proxy to vote on their behalf before 6 pm on December 2nd. Votes will be cast live at the Special Meeting on December 4th at 6 pm. 

There is a form of proxy to be completed that will instruct the vote and assign an individual as authorized to vote on behalf of the non-personal member. To obtain the form and for assistance, please call 1.877.560.0100 option 7.
